checking in....

It has been a few weeks. I am doing well, just moody (poor Caleb). He doesn't really talk much any more because he is afraid I will bit his head off. We just had another Dr appt last week. Caleb was able to go with me so I was extremely excited and so was he. We will find out on January 2nd if we are having a boy or girl, well that is if baby cooperates. We have narrowed names down. We have a girl name and 2 boy names picked out so far. But there is room for change.

As for my dad, he has prostate cancer in 5% of the tissue. His consulation at Roswell Cancer Institute is Friday morning. He is hoping that they will schedule the surgery right away. But I really don't think it will be until after Christmas. But we will find out soon enough.

Cailyn Hindle seems to be holding her own. Check out the carepages. Her mom Nikki is keeping everyone updated.

Verdict

Well I just heard today that my dad does in fact have prostate cancer. They are optimistic that surgery will take care of it. When he had his biopsy 2 weeks ago they took 12 samples and only one small area had cancer, so that is good. The doctors office is making the arrangements for the surgery to happen at Roswell Cancer Institute in Buffalo. I will keep you posted. I can't wait to get home to see my family this weekend.

Prayers needed

Today I was informed about a friends very early birth of her daughter. Cailyn Hindle was born on November 12th, 1lb 4 oz. Cailyn's mother had pre-eclampsia so she had to be induced. Cailyn will likely have to stay in the hospital until her origanal due date, February 28th.

Also, today is the day that my dad will find out if he has prostate cancer. Please keep my family and friends in your prayers. Take care everyone.

1st Trimester

So it's been a few weeks. I had my second dr appt a week ago. I got to hear the baby's heartbeat, 170 beats per minute. Sadly, Caleb was not able to make it so I called him and he got to hear the heartbeat over the phone. Caleb thinks this rate of heartbeat means we are having a girl. I told him that it's just an old wives tale. We will see who is right in a few more weeks.

Lately, I have just been feeling fat and not pregnant. I had gained weight before the wedding, so that is not helping my self esteem issues right now. Someone suggested taking a 3 month along pic but I am not feeling it. My boobs are growing and that isn't fun either. I was having some trouble with my sciatica nerve. It was a long painful weekend at the beginning of the month. I had to work all weekend and couldn't get into the chiropractor until Monday. But I am doing better now. It just feels like a pulled muscle. So now it is time to get that workout routine back in place. I need it for my health and the baby, not to mention my sanity and my marriage. I had been very hormonal, so Caleb and I were fighting alot. Things are getting better now.

I am starting to think about nursery themes and colors. I actually started a wish list at Babiesrus to help me keep track of what I like. And will have something to go on when I do go to create the baby registry. We have been working on names. I will keep you posted on all these fun things.

Big Announcement

So I have been waiting to post this, until the right time. So here it is..... I'm PREGNANT!!!!! We will have a lil bundle of joy arriving around June 1st. So far I have been pretty lucky and not having much morning sickness. I go to the dr in a couple of weeks and hopefully will be able to hear the baby's heart beat. We are SO excited. I want to have a boy and Caleb wants to have both, however he would like this baby to be a girl.

I will keep you posted as the months go by.

For the love of Fall...

It is a beautiful sunny, 75 degree day in Northwest PA and I am loving it. Fall is my favorite season. The leaves are really starting to change, the nights are cool, pumpkins & mums are plentiful, and its football season. Yesterday, we rounded up the gang and went for a 4 wheeling ride. It was perfect, the woods were colorful, the sun was shining and the wildlife was abundant. Also, Caleb and his buddies worked on measuring, cutting and power washing the boards for the "man cave". Caleb's very own den for the guys to gather and watch football games and those stupid scary/suspense movies that I don't like. lol He is recovering the walls w/ barn wood planks to give it a very rustic look. They only got one wall covered this weekend.

I am hoping to go home and sit outside a bit and read. Then take Remi for a walk at Roche park after supper. Hope everyone is having this nice beautiful weather. ENJOY!

Some wedding pics

I won't have the photographers proofs for a few more weeks. I decided to put on some of the snapshots that were taken by friends. Hopefully I will get some honeymoon pics on soon.

Sadness

We are now safely back to everyday life as a married couple. Just as we are happily starting to nest with our new gifts, we were hit with the news of Caleb's uncle Terry being killed in a tractor accident on Sunday. So tonight we will attend the calling hours and tomorrow the funeral of his uncle. Caleb is in shock, but finding some comfort in the fact that we had a family picnic at our house this summer that gave us time to spend with Terry and of course our wedding. His dad's family is not very big and has had its share of tragedy. Now it is even smaller. Terry was a very outgoing, friendly, helpful and just all around good man. I thank god for the opportunity to have him in my life, even if it was only for a short time. So I will go and try to be strong for me, Caleb and the rest of the family.

Sicky...

Well we are 8 days away from the wedding and I have a stupid sinus infection. I am going to the dr this afternoon. They said they would give me some antibotics and that I should be feeling better by Wednesday. I hope so. I have lots to do next week for the wedding and of course the most important.....get married. lol Have a great weekend.

Rain...Love Hate Relationship

It has been raining all day here in Northwest PA. I love rainy days for a multitude of reasons:
~I can get lots of work done inside because I don't want to be outside
~I can curl up w/ a good book, blanket and a cup of hot tea
~rain is mesmerizing and you can just get lost in your thoughts
~and I LOVE kissing in the rain.

As for the reasons that I don't like rain:
~cancelling outdoor activites
~mud (unless of course we are on the 4wheeler)
~the gloominess
~when it is cold outside and everything turns to ice
~and wet dogs

Right now I am wishing I was home curled up on the couch reading Yada Yada Prayer Group (the 1st in the series), siping on some herbal tea and just over all relaxing. But then I keep thinking about the golf outing that I am in tomorrow and how the weather man is calling for soaking rain all day tomorrow. I am not looking forward to getting soaked and cold. But I am going to try to keep a positive outlook and hope for no rain.

Have a great weekend all!

Feeling better

So last night we finished up our pre-marriage mentoring sessions. They feel we did really well and that we have "our heads on straight" about being married and all that it entails. So my mind is put to rest not to mention I get an evening back to myself. Which also helps to keep me sane. I am completely in love with Caleb and know that he is not perfect (neither am I) but he is perfect for me.

The dress is bought, the date is set, the cake is paid for, the flowers decided on, the rings are in, and the food will be ordered next week. Things are going well. Just have to finish up those dam center pieces, create a play list for the dj, and finalize things w/ the photographer.

In 16 days I will marry the love of my life........

I just want to be married.....

Who's idea was it anyway to have a big wedding...... I want to just be married. I'm tired of planning and being so busy. I know this is supposed to be exciting and all but I am just feeling overwhelmed. We have 17 days to go until the wedding and I know it will all be fine. But I really wish we could just go get married and forget it all the rest. But of course I don't want to waste the money that we have spent on things. Not to mention, the money all of our friends and family have spent for our big day. Ok...just had to vent. Smiley face is back on.

24 days and counting.....

We have 24 days until the wedding and a whole list of things to do. I tried to relax over the holiday weekend between working Saturday, baby shower on Sunday and a party Sunday night at our house. Then I cleaned the whole house. I think that might of been a little procrastination on my part but now it is clean and won't bother me. Tonight Caleb wants to go golfing so he can "practice" for playoffs on his golf league. I really want to go because we haven't golfed together much this summer and would love to spend some quality time w/ him. We still have some invitations to get out, because we still had to get the addresses. Of course, I have to make the centerpieces, birdseed packets and all the other last minute little stuff. But it will all work out in the end and we will have a beautiful wedding day.

Invitations

AHG....I am so frustrated. The invitations for ourwedding finally arrived yesterday so they are going out in the mail 1 month before the wedding. On top of the tardiness, they were not printed in the correct color, missing the maple leaf outline, and there is a mistake on the address. I am sending them out anyway because I can't wait any longer. Obviously, no one receiving the invite will know the ink color was supposed to be brown and there was supposed to be the maple leaf. But some people will catch the typo. I will not recommend this business to anyone. On the bright side, the invitations are out and I can move on to more of the details of the wedding. Hopefully no more of this and things will be clear sailing from now on. Wish me luck.

20 Things about me!

Lets learn about me~

1) I have a black lab & golden retriever mix dog that looks all black lab. Remi he is such a good boy.

2) When I moved in with Caleb we boought a new 4 wheeler for us to ride and use around the house. I like to drive it but I also like to be on the back holding on when we go on trail rides.

3)I like to read. I am currently reading Yada Yada Prayer Group and For Women Only. I read one during my lunch hour and the other is at home for free time and before I go to bed to unwind.

4)I am a Sigma Kappa, Theta Iota.

5)I love to camp. This year we bought a new tent and we went to the PA Grand Canyon in Wellsboro.

6) I like to go to concerts w/ my good friend Michelle. Last year we saw Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney, Sugarland & Jo Dee Messina. We got to meet Dierks and Jo Dee! We didn't make it to any this year :0(

7)I have a younger brother. Jimmy is 10 years my junior.

8) I am a people watcher. I love to sit in the mall, at the park, at restaurants, anywhere and watch people.

9) I like to watch reality tv. My favorites are Top Chef, Project Runway and The Big Break.

10) I drive a jeep liberty that I love, except for the gas mileage. Caleb is a Chevy/GMC man and would love to run my jeep over. lol

11) I have been married before. It lasted 7 years. It was a hard thing to do because I was scared to leave and be on my own. I had never lived by myself and wasn't sure I could do it. But I did and now I am a better person and future wife for Caleb.

12) My aunt was killed in a plane crash when I was 13. I miss her terribly. I am a clone of her.

13) I love christmas! I love the excitement of it and the anticipation of christmas morning. Purchasing presents is nerve racking and rewarding all at the same time, because I want to get the person something they will really like. It is my favorite holiday. I love decorating and putting up a tree. But I also hate to take it all down.

14) Fall is my favorite time of the year. The leaves changing and the air is cooler. Football season. Caleb likes fall also so we decided to get married at the end of September. We are having an outside wedding and it is looking promising for some beautiful, brillant color and warm weather.

15) I have a great group of friends. I am truly blessed. Love you girls!!!
16)When I was a child a had a parakeet named Sam. He was blue. My grandma gave him to me.
17)Caleb had a Harley Sportster and I love to go for rides. Sadly we did not ride that much this summer. Maybe next year we will ride more. We would love to get a bigger bike, a street glider.
18)I am the oldest grandchild on both sides of my family. And I am the oldest of the great grandchildren in my dad's family.
19) Last year I started playing golf w/ my friend Kristy and her boyfriend. Then Caleb cultivated my passion for it.
20)I can't wait to be a mom!

One Month Before Wedding

We are one month away from our nuptials. I am starting to stress about all the things we have to do. The biggest thing is that our invitations have not arrived (but they should be here today). So that is my first priority this week. Then there is the centerpieces, birdseed packets, program, and so on..... Even tho I am stressing I am completely excited to be marrying Caleb. He is truly the man of my dreams. He makes me weak in the knees when he kisses me or just gives me that look.

We met and started dating 14 months ago. I was not looking for a boyfriend, just planning to have an amazing summer. Then my friend Kristy said wanna go golfing with Josh and one of his friends. It took us a couple more weeks but once I had decided to be w/ him it was all over. I was hooked. I think on of the best things we did was not jump right in to seeing each other everyday. We waited a couple weeks and then I went on vacation for 10 days and that really helped me realize how much I liked him and wanted to be with him. Ever since we have been working on creating a life together.
